This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Montclair is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Montclair follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We came here for a birthday dinner and loved it! The murgh tikka was delicious and cooked to perfection. The mint chutney was perfect and not too spicy. Their presentation is amazing as well. We had the Anarkali and Mango cooler for mocktails and both were so delicious and refreshing! For entrees we got butter chicken and daal bukhara with garlic and butter naan. Highly recommend both. For dessert we had the gulab jamun ice cream with churros! Such a unique dessert! Weβll be back!

Food was very delicious innovative modern touch and premium ingredients. Naan were soft and fresh. Kaccha Aam was a great mocktail. Chicken home style was the best. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area and craving Indian cuisine

Visited Dhamaal in Montclair and although limited Jain food options, they were good. The server are quite attentive to dietary restrictions. We started with the Rawalpindi Chaat, which had a perfect balance of sweetness and spice and was a great appetizer. For the main course, we had the Dal Bukhara along with a Mango Cooler. The dal was flavorful and comforting. The makhani preparation was slightly spicier than expected and could have been a bit more buttery, but it was still enjoyable overall. The highlight was the Sitafal Crumble dessert which had wheat crumble at the bottom, creamy sitafal in the middle, and crunchy pistachio pieces on top. Definitely worth a visit if youβre in Montclair!

We stopped in for a weekend early lunch. It was quiet when we walked in and were puzzled when asked about reservations but after being seated it steadily and quickly filled up which was a great sign. Service was prompt and no issues in handling my no cilantro request. Food was great, flavorful with a traditional taste at its core but presented with some modern or fusion flair. We enjoyed both the tacos and Channa chat to start. Both recognizable in taste but different and fresh. We went with two kofta dishes and both were unique flavor wise. The jackfruit kofta actually had a more traditional malai kofta taste to it albeit with a different texture. It was great and well spiced. The beetroot kofta were not at all as weβd expected but pleasantly surprised and it too had great flavors. Breads were on point (we had a basket with rosemary, butter and garlic naans). We were too full to try dessert but hope to have that when we come back. Overall great experience, well decorated, great food and while pricey, we felt it was a great meal.
